A Second Chance Twice

Over three years ago, at age 50, I finally found my biological mother in San Diego and found out that I had two brothers, one older and one younger. We had a big family reunion in Boston, and (I) now have a great relationship with my mother and brothers.

However, after 30 years of trying to find my biological mother, she died one year ago today. At least I had two good years of knowing her, and I finally know why I was put up for adoption.

My brothers and aunt(my mother's sister) are still always in touch with me.

When I was 15, I had a girlfriend that got pregnant in 1962. The baby was born on August 12, 1963; she was a beautiful baby. I thought that we were going to keep her; my parents would help.

I went to the hospital every day (3 days) and held my baby in my arms. When I went to the hospital to see the baby on the fourth day, I showed up and the baby was gone.

I asked my girlfriend where she was, and then she told me that her parents would not let (her)go home unless she gave the baby up for adoption. Back in those days, the male, under age, had no say. I just cried. I promised that I would always look for her.

Three years ago, I finally found her and her family. We have so much in (common). From the first time I met her, we bonded. She has (a) wonderful husband and two sons. So now, I have 7 grandsons and one granddaughter.
