Another Found Story
I don't know if this will be heartening to anyone. It is to me.
About a year ago I posted an 'ad' as an adoptee seeking information on my birth parent(s). This afternoon I received a call from someone inquiring as to my previous name 'Trudy'.
I never thought I would hear from anyone, especially after reading many stories of people diligently (and expensively) searching for years. However, my birth mother's only son called, and it turns out he checked online, (I cannot now locate the forum) and he is my brother (98% sure... he is a lawyer).
I am shocked, surprised, and after hearing from the state of KY five years ago that my b-mother did not wish contact with me, I am forever grateful. Now, I know my surname; as an African-American woman (biracial, nowadays) this is very important news to me. I must have sounded non-plussed, but my feelings are quite opposite. He had several aspects of his life similar to mine, and he had photos of himself; so shocking to see another face. And photos of my mother, very enlightening to me. Even if I were not to talk with him again, the fact that someone traced me to let me know I am their blood sister! Guess I can stop wondering if I am a twin (he is 17 months younger with a different father.) Ha Ha. Thank you, Eric.
