Our Dreams Came True
I gave my daughter up for adoption in 1971. I went through a Catholic adoption agency, which has sealed records. I had made many attempts at finding her with no success. Her father also tried and left a letter with the agency in 1989, stating if she ever came looking for us he was interested in a reunion.
In 2000, our daughter went to the agency to find us, but the records were sealed. The only way to find us was to register with the courts in the hope that the judge would open the file. A process that could take many years. The women at the agency told my daughter to put an add on Adoption.com, and she did. She then contacted her father and told him to search the web site.
In less then 2 days, they connected, and we were reunited shortly after that. Our daughter did not have the best adoption experience, and finding us was her, as well as our dream come true.
